NATIONAL Atlantic is seeking a Director, Marketing (18-month term), to deliver strategic thinking and exceptional client service for our clients, and to provide leadership within the marketing team. A director holds increasing responsibility for account management, client relations, communications strategy, and people management. They manage a wide range of assignments and offers effective counsel to clients on complex issues and problems, as well as contributing to the good functioning of the Firm through internal responsibilities. NATIONAL supports hybrid and in-office work arrangements, and this position will be based in our Halifax office.

Requirements

  • College or university degree or equivalent in marketing, communications, public relations, commerce, or a related field.
  • 9+ years of experience in a marketing, advertising, media, and/or public relations role.
  • Agency experience is an asset but not required.
  • Ability to learn and grow.
  • A strong work ethic
Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with consulting, digital, and creative colleagues to support the development of integrated marketing communications strategies, advertising campaigns, and brands.
  • Lead large client relationships, while providing coaching and mentorship to supporting Consultants, Associates and Coordinators.
  • Leads project and financial management planning, implementation, and project teams.
  • Participate in decision-making related to the internal functioning of the Marketing team, and promotes collaboration to attain individual, team and office-wide goals.
  • Identifies and leads new business opportunities.
Skills
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communications skills, and an ability to craft a compelling story which can be shared across multiple channels.
  • Demonstrates strong project management skills and ability to deliver mandates on time and on budget.
  • Interest and expertise in the art and science of branding, marketing, and strategic communications now and in the future
  • Knowledge, familiarity, and ongoing interest in pop culture, current events and local and global news, and industry trends.
  • Comfortable working in an industry that changes quickly and frequently and ability to adapt to different client situations and cultures.
  • Experience in reporting, measuring, and optimizing the success of integrated campaigns and marketing communications strategies through digital data and insights platforms.
  • Ability to think creatively and bring a unique point of view to every room.
