Position Title: Logistics Analyst (18-Month Term)

Team and Location: STaR \xe2\x80\x93 Calgary, AB

Minimum Starting Salary from: $ 60,800 /year

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, The Logistics Analyst works closely with the Logistics team to support the scheduling of shipments by rail, truck and/or transload. The Logistics Analyst will also be responsible for updating internal systems with transactions and accruals and will ensure Revenue and Costs flow through to settlement. The successful candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and will possess the ability to prioritize and execute with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage bill of ladings (BOL\xe2\x80\x99s); system entry, distribution and record maintenance as required.
  • May act as the key contact for a small book of business in scheduling and forecasting with counterparties, suppliers and transportation providers such as railroads, trucking and transload facilities.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external working relationships.
  • Validate and approve incoming invoices for all logistics costs, detention, demurrage and freight for rail, truck, transloading and storage.
  • Work with vendors to ensure accurate invoicing and ensure discrepancies are dealt with.
  • Enter recoverable costs, demurrage, detention, equipment repairs and maintenance into systems.
  • Manage month end process; verifying shipment and arrival dates in systems, contract completion, verify reports.
  • Work closely with and assist, Logistics, Trading, Operations, Accounting, Credit and Risk.
  • Assist Logistics Schedulers with problem invoices, investigations and accruals for all transactions.
  • Provide support to Logistics Manager with ad hoc reporting and analytical requests.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years Oil and Gas industry experience would be an asset.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines.
  • Strong ability to take initiative and be proactive when resolving issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate within all levels of an organization.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing demands, responsibilities and issues.
  • Strong computer skills required (with especially strong Excel skills).
  • Allegro and/or GeoMetrix experience would be an asset.
  • Willing to learn, comfortable in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to analyze both successes and failures with a desire to constantly improve.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
