The Role:

The Director, Market Access reports to the Senior Director, Market Access and Reimbursement. The successful candidate is responsible for the development, execution, and implementation of Canadian market access strategy to provide optimal patient access throughout the lifecycle of the Gilead portfolio.

You will improve the lives of Canadians by building relationships and work closely with departmental and cross functional colleagues in a fast-paced environment to achieve and maintain access to Gilead products. Through this role you will grow and be challenged in our diverse culture that will broaden your skills and expand your outreach in several therapeutic areas. Through the appropriate engagement of external stakeholders in the Canadian reimbursement environment, you will make a real difference in the lives of patients.

How you will \xe2\x80\x98Create Possible\xe2\x80\x99:

Lead the development of market access and value strategy across therapeutic areas

Lead and direct teams that create submissions to Canadian health technology agencies, governments, and public/private payers aligned with access strategy

Create strategic pricing recommendations and business cases to support access strategy

Provide leadership and expertise to create the negotiation strategy and planning

Identify, plan, and deploy local market access team resources

Represent the local affiliate on Global value and access teams to leverage and adapt global tools to optimize product value proposition for the Canadian environment.

Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to develop messages and compelling value propositions to key stakeholders that support patient access strategy

Provide structure and guidance to support cross functional planning and tactical execution

Maintain deep and comprehensive acumen of the processes, policies, and trends in Canadian, provincial, and private environment to ensure market access plans meet the needs of payers.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

10+ years within the biopharma/pharmaceutical industry with demonstrated experience in health technology submissions.

Advanced degree in science, economics, public health, business, or related field of study would be an asset

Excellent communication skills and demonstrated clear decision making

Demonstrated strong portfolio management experience

Experience and knowledge in Canadian access and reimbursement of products in oncology and/or hematology would be an asset.

Demonstrated experience in health economic/pharmacoeconomic modeling and health technology assessment process would be an asset

Demonstrated experience managing and developing teams and direct reports

Ability to manage and lead cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results

Comfortable and adaptive to working in a changing environment and ambiguity.

Excellent communication skills (written, oral, presentation)

Bilingual (English and French) written and verbal skills an asset
