The HR Director will serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to executive leadership, overseeing the development and execution of human resources initiatives that support both corporate functions and operational teams. This role ensures alignment between HR strategy and business goals across multiple departments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in matrixed environments who can balance strategic direction with practical implementation.
How You'll Help
Partner with executive and operational leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives.
Support workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning initiatives across corporate and operational domains.
Serve as a key contributor in shaping organizational culture and driving change management.
Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions across all business units.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations, particularly those unique to operational environments (e.g., shift work, union regulations, safety standards).
Lead HR policy development and training initiatives.
Implement consistent performance management processes that support employee development, recognition, and accountability.
Coach leaders and managers on effective people management and team performance.
Support field and operational teams with HR best practices, including scheduling, labor optimization, safety, and workforce engagement.
Ensure local HR teams are aligned with company-wide HR standards and practices.
Stay current with HR trends, employment legislation, and best practice

Your Skills & Experience:
Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
8-12 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 in a leadership role supporting both corporate and operational teams.
Experience in Logistics or Transportation industry considered a strong asset
Proven experience in employee relations, including conducting investigations, handling disputes, and developing related policies
Strong understanding of HR best practices across a broad range of functions.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, particularly as it relates to the Canada Labour Code
Demonstrated success leading HR in complex, fast-paced environments.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
Proficient in HRIS platforms and data analytics tools.
CPHR certification (or equivalent) preferred.
Fluency in French considered a strong asset.
