Opportunity Awaits You


Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, this new and exciting role will be key member of the City of Toronto\'s Senior HR Leadership Team. At its core, you will be accountable for ensuring HR can support the business in meeting its corporate objectives by providing strategic guidance to the People & Equity Leadership Team, focusing on HR transformation, client service and operational excellence.


Mandate and Core Responsibilities:


As the Director, HR Strategy & Integration, you will be responsible for developing, designing, and implementing functional policies and programs that lead to overarching changes in overall business performance based on both short and long-term needs.



You will ensure the broader HR management team within the various sections across HR have the appropriate direction, guidance, processes, and tools to increase and maintain efficiencies and improve the effectiveness of the services provided.


Given this is a new role, you will operate with some level of ambiguity and will be expected to drive change with minimal supervision by working with the HR Senior Leadership Team and develop a set of strategies, goals, objectives and priorities and also developing plans to achieve those strategies, including determining the staffing needs in the HR Strategy and Integration unit itself.


In this dynamic role, you will demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the Toronto Public Service mission and values, as well as a commitment to diversity, human rights, accessibility and equity.


You will provide leadership by supporting and fostering an environment of continuous improvement by enabling the section\'s managers and staff through progressive change and performance management processes.


In addition to this, you will partner with the People & Equity Senior Leadership Team on planning, strategizing and delivering People & Equity programs and services to the Corporation, as well as consulting with other People & Equity units in order to provide advice regarding specialized complex cases.

A combination of education, professional development, and senior level leadership experience has prepared you to take on this exciting and unique role.


The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of developing and executing people-focused strategies in a large and complex environment and will execute on deliverables with a collaborative and customer-centric approach.



Furthermore, the successful candidate will have extensive experience with organizational strategy, change management, and HR program development, with experience across various lines of HR including Talent Management, Business Partnering and end-to-end employee lifecycle events such as hiring, performance and organizational development.



You are results-driven and possess superior organizational skills. You have a remarkable ability to problem solve using your critical thinking, analytical skills, and creativity to resolve unique issues. You have a proven record as a consensus builder who also models decisiveness, even on tough decisions.


You have experience working in an environment overseeing consultative services and have the ability to partner with Employee and Labour relations to interpret collective agreements and employment related legislation, policies and programs and understanding of the implications of change and creating mitigation strategies as needed.


Finally, you have a proven track record of success, based on providing practical and progressive advice and guidance to move things forward while relying on your high standards of moral and ethical conduct.
