Job Title Director, GRM Credit



What is the Opportunity?

As part of the Group Risk Management team, the Director, GRM Credit Risk will evaluate commercial loan requests by reviewing applicants\' credit histories and analyzing financial statements in order to approve or deny loan applications.

The ideal candidate will manage activities through senior managers and managers and implements corporate and divisional strategic plans and budgets.

What will you do?

  • Reviews the credit history, profitability and liquidity of clients to assess the risk level involved in credit extension or money lending.
  • Consults with customers to verify financial and credit transactions; responds to customer inquiries and resolves customer complaints.
  • Communicates with credit associations and other relevant authorities about the credit history of customers.
  • Analyzes financial data to determine customers\' financial status and the expected profitability of commercial loans; recommends approval or denial of loan applications.
What do you need to succeed?

Must-Haves

Analytical and intellectually curious mindset with an ability to think outside the box

Minimum 5 years of experience working in a financial institution, preferably in lending

Good understanding of loan and trading credit products with a proven track record of building effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders

Significant experience with Excel, including as a tool for financial analysis and a good understanding of financial modelling and financial statement analysis

Ability to deal with obstacles and work to develop effective solutions/recommendations on tight timelines

Strong communication skills and ability to work with others in a collaborative manner

Nice-to-Haves:

MBA, accounting designation and/or CFA

Interest in pursuing a career in Risk Management

Industry knowledge and experience

Previous experience using online research tools such as SNL, Bloomberg, KMV, or using S&P/Moody\xe2\x80\x99s/Fitch ratings
