Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings. The Supply Chain Management Branch is responsible for strategic sourcing and procurement, vendor relationship management, construction and professional services contract management and materials management for various functional and operational areas within the department. What you will do? You are a dynamic leader with demonstrated people management skills and have the experience to build and lead a high performing team, dedicated to delivering a quality program. Your strong leadership skills will include building and establishing relationships to advise on strategic direction and partner with departmental senior leaders to strategically improve the Department\'s delivery of work. As a member of the Department\'s senior leadership team, the Director of Supply Chain will be responsible for:
Leading all aspects of Supply Chain Management including contracts and materials management and overseeing the timely delivery of materials, goods and services throughout various departments and branches;
Managing a team of professionals in the areas of sourcing, vendor selection, negotiation, procurement and contract placement for goods and services;
Partnering with Service New Brunswick Strategic Procurement to implement procurement strategies and maintain security of supply;
Setting, measuring, and tracking departmental objectives and KPIs for supplier and buyer performance and inventory management;
Reviewing high value purchase orders to ensure procurements are consistent with organizational policies and procedures;
Negotiating large-scale contracts and providing support to other negotiations as required.
Leading settlement discussions for complex construction claims and disputes;
Staying current with market changes, risks and challenges and partnering with industry associations to identify and benchmark best practices for category and contract management;

Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday.
Some travel within the province will be required.

Essential Qualifications:
University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Public Administration, Information Technology or an applied science such as Engineering.
Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively related experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Valid Class 5 driver\'s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
Progressively related experience includes:
Experience with public sector supply chain management, contract management and procurement;
Experience with public procurement sourcing, contract negotiations and settlements;
Six (6) years of direct supervisory experience in managing employees and diverse teams; and
Experience working with the Procurement Act and Regulation
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.
