In addition to its ongoing pursuits in real estate development and construction, AG has expanded its holdings to include assets in the sports & entertainment, renewable energy, aquaculture, tourist attractions, restaurants, and food & beverage industries. SUMMARY:
Reporting to the VP; the Director, Finance is a key member of the Finance team, providing operational leadership and strategic insights. The role will involve establishing and monitoring budgets and performance metrics and will focus on planning, projections, capital investments, and where applicable, acquisitions. It will appeal to a high achiever who desires to utilize and expand upon their strong accounting and financial experience by engaging in strategic business and investment decisions, performance evaluation, financing, and acquisitions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports senior executives and the governance board by providing advice and guidance on strategic financial matters
  • Identify, evaluate and lead key initiatives such as business process redesign, cost savings initiatives, vertical integrations and expansions
  • Assess, improve and maintain a strong internal control structure
  • Performs due diligence on acquisitions or major capital projects
  • Oversees internal and external financing of operations and capital projects
  • Monitors risk management policies and procedures to ensure that organizational risks are minimized
  • Develops, implements, and ensures compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures, including compliance with current legislation
  • Establishes guidelines for budget and forecast preparation, and reviews and approves the same
  • Produces accurate and consistent reporting on financial results and provides recommendations for action required for internal leadership team, external stakeholders, and the Board
  • Provides creative alternatives and recommendations to senior management for improvements that will lead to risk reduction, cost reduction, revenue generation, improved financial performance, and streamlined operations
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Professional accounting designation
  • 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 finance experience in a management capacity
  • Proven experience managing, leading and motivating staff
  • Experience with process analysis and improvement
  • Experience with complex budgets, forecasting, internal transactions, and executive presentations
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and accounting systems
  • Ability to handle conflicting deadlines and prioritize
  • Ability to professionally liaise with high-profile stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
