The Enterprise Data Governance Director will be joining the Architecture, Infrastructure, Data & Analytics (AIDA) team within Data & Technology (D&T), reporting to the Senior Vice President. You will collaborate with teams across OMERS and Oxford to democratize and safeguard data through a risk-based approach in accordance with our policies, standards and guidelines.
You are a focal point of integration between business teams, business technology teams and the Enterprise Data Governance team to prepare, implement, empower and sustain data governance priorities, achieving measurable results. In this capacity, you are equal parts evangelist, thought leader and delivery partner to champion data integrity to inform better decision making in support of sustainable growth for the OMERS Pension Plan.
As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

Serving as a people steward, agent of change and leading with innovative yet practical approaches to improving business impact and adoption using data, analytics and AI
Business storytelling and presentations to various senior/executive level councils and committees on progress, risks and issues and future plans/strategy in relation to the data governance rollout
Collaborating with senior/executive partners of all levels across multi-functional teams, including investment groups, pension administrators, corporate functions and real estate teams
Collaborating closely with senior leaders from Information Management, Data Engineering, Data Science, Business Intelligence, Architecture, Infrastructure, Cyber, Privacy, Compliance, Legal, Operational Risk and other teams
Applying written and verbal communication, influencing with trust & credibility, conflict resolution and problem solving as you rollout data governance across the company
Leading data governance communications, organizational change and user enablement by way of high-quality presentations, workshop facilitation and learning/training execution
Championing a growing community of data stewards and owners within various business teams
Thought leadership aligned to leading standards and frameworks implemented in a practical manner to progress the roadmap, reduce risk exposure and close audit findings
Setting strategy, roadmap, budget, execution plans, backlog and value & performance scorecards in alignment with the Enterprise Data Governance vision
Drafting, publishing and refreshing data governance policies, standards and guidelines in addition to a reusable playbook for business self-serve
Develop, enhance and implement practices related to data access, metadata management, data quality, data lineage and data sharing
Oversight of key vendor partners and related data management/enablement tooling and processes
Conduct maturity assessments, training/learning programs and establish plans to mitigate gaps
To succeed in this role, you have:
8-10 years of progressive experience in data analytics and data governance strategy and execution
5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience developing comprehensive business cases, strategies, KPI\'s, and product roadmaps
5+ years in financial services, preferably financial markets, investment management or pension plans
Technical depth with a background in being part of enterprise-wide system implementations with the lens of data governance
Ability to collaborate and influence executive stakeholders across the organization to empower all areas on data governance strategy and best practices
An outcome oriented, systems thinking approach to solving sophisticated and often ambiguous problems to generate reusable solutions
Process engineering and automation, detailed business case, value tracking, reporting and presentation experience
The ability to ideate with others, translate economic value, formulate new data analytics product offerings and convey the subject matter through compelling storytelling and different forms of media
A consistent track record of launching data governance capabilities and defining service experiences to internal and external customers
Solid understanding of enterprise-grade and cloud-first data governance tools \xe2\x80\x93 metadata management, data lineage, data quality, Bi and data sharing
Familiarity with DataOps and experience in automating data governance workflows
The ability to develop authentic relationships with internal and external partners, to collaborate and effectively handle opposing priorities
Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on projects, with knowledge on defining and tracking success metrics
Strong working experience in DevOps, agile and stakeholder facilitation following leading design thinking methods
Experience with collaboration tools such as Miro, Mural, JIRA, Slack
Excellent time-management skills, specifically in project management with an ability to delegate and influence key partners while proactively handling risks and issues
A University degree or post-graduate and/or combination of equivalent training, education and experience is required
