About this role
As a trusted business partner and strategic thought leader, you will unlock the full potential of data by embedding it at the heart of commercial, product, and operational decisions. You won't just deliver insights-- you will shape the business agenda, influence outcomes, and create value through intelligent, data-led action. In this role you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of managers, analysts, engineers, and data scientists to ensure the organization's data is accurate, accessible, and most importantly providing real world insight to improve stakeholder experience.
Reporting to the VP Finance locally with dotted line reporting into our Global Data and Analytics (DNA) center of excellence, you will work closely with leaders across the organization to provide new or enhanced analytical approaches, drive adoption of Data Products, lead data strategy and implementation of new tools and AI across the organization, and be the champion of data literacy across the organization.
You will be accountable for modelling complex problems, developing predictive systems, and identifying opportunities through analysis and experimentation.
Location: Hybrid- 3 days a week from our Toronto or Winnipeg office & 2 days working from home

Lead a full-stack data team covering governance, analytics, data engineering, and data science fostering growth and innovation through mentorship and work structures.
Shape and Champion the DNA vision for a data-driven organization that builds and implements leading edge tooling in AI and predictive analytics.
Work together with all DNA Leaders at JET to evaluate technology trends, build business cases, and drive strategic roadmaps locally for the business and globally within the Data and Analytics function.
Your work will directly contribute to accelerating growth, optimising margin, and improving customer lifetime value. Whether through smarter pricing, personalised marketing, operational forecasting, or customer journey analytics, your insights will shape commercial levers that drive performance.
Collaborate with senior business leaders to advise on data-driven strategies that improve customer experience and outcomes through solid Data Products, and insights using experimentation and advanced analytics.
Develop, oversee, and reinforce long-term data strategy, governance, standards, and best practices together with all DNA Leaders.
Identify and recommend new data sources, tools, and techniques to improve data quality and analytical capabilities to create value for consumers, couriers and partners of Skip.
What will you bring to the table?
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of work experience and 5 years of managerial experience leading full-stack analytics teams experience in data analysis, data science or other similar quantitative discipline, preferably in eCommerce, Marketplace, or other software enabled B2C businesses.
Proven track record of designing and implementing successful data and analytics strategies that drive business growth and profitability.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Proven experience in data modeling, database design, and data warehousing
Deep knowledge of analytics tools, BI platforms, and reporting solutions
Strong understanding of business principles, data governance frameworks, and compliance standards
