About the Role

In FTI ConsultingaEUR(TM)s Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment, we focus on our clientsaEUR(TM) strategic, operational, financial, and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders. We are a global consulting firm with over 7,000 employees worldwide with a team of over 100 employees located in every major location in Canada. We operate in small engagement teams to provide direct hands-on experience to our clients. We have recently opened our Montreal corporate finance and restructuring practice and are excited to build out the team for our new Montreal office.

What YouaEUR(TM)ll Do

The Director will work with clients in domestic and multinational companies across various and diverse industries. Some of the job responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day financial activities of restructuring and/or transactions related projects including interaction with top restructuring experts in the industry, legal and finance professionals from other firms and senior client management.
  • Apply business, accounting, finance and analysis skills to various client situations and practice disciplines.
  • Review financial statements and perform quality of earnings analysis.
  • Prepare and/or review complex financial projections to model business processes and/or actual or hypothetical transactions (including operating as a going concern, sale of the company, liquidation, etc).
  • Assess business plans, cash flows, and analyze large amounts of data associated with restructuring plans.
  • Conduct financial due diligence and financial analysis of clients and potential target companies.
  • Understand all aspects of the clientaEUR(TM)s business including review of operational and financial performance (such as actual vs. budget variance analysis on cash flow results).
  • Draft written reports and/or presentations for third parties on the project scope, findings and/or results of activities.
  • Work with the clientaEUR(TM)s senior management, legal counsel, and investment bankers for the sale of the business, non-core operations or other assets to complete the transaction.
  • Manage the engagement team and provide coaching to junior team members.
  • This role requires travel to clients and FTI offices.

Basic Qualifications/Qualifications & Experience
  • BacheloraEUR(TM)s Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
  • CPA, CFA or MBA candidates strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in restructuring and/or transaction services strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a professional services firm (public accounting, consulting, etc).
  • Understanding of financial statements and corporate functions.
  • Advanced problem-solving and issue resolution skills.
  • Advanced Excel modelling and PowerPoint skills.
  • Professional verbal and written communications, including report writing.
  • Strong interest in finance and working in a professional services environment.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt in an ever-changing environment to meet client needs.
  • Bilingual (French and English).

  • a?valuer les plans d'affaires, les flux de tresorerie et analyser de grandes quantites de donnees associees aux plans de restructuration.
  • Proceder a un contrale diligent financier A due diligence A et a une analyse financiere des resultats financiers des clients et des entreprises-cibles potentielles.
  • Comprendre tous les aspects de l'activite du client, y compris l'examen des performances operationnelles et financieres (telle que l'analyse des ecarts au budget sur les resultats des flux de tresorerie).
  • Preparer des rapports ecrits et des presentations pour des tiers sur la portee des projets, les conclusions et resultats des activites.
  • Collaborer avec la haute direction, le conseiller juridique et les banquiers des clients dans le contexte de la vente de l'entreprise, de ses operations non essentielles ou d'autres actifs afin de conclure une transaction.
  • Gerer l'equipe et encadrer les membres juniors.

Qualifications et experience
  • Baccalaureat en comptabilite, commerce ou finance.
  • Les candidats possedant un titre professionnel CPA, CFA ou MBA seront fortement avantages.
  • Experience anterieure dans des services de restructuration et de transaction serait un atout.
  • Plus de 5 annees d'experience pertinente dans un cabinet de services professionnels (comptabilite publique, consultation, etc.).
  • Comprehension des etats financiers et des rouages daEUR(TM)une entreprise.
  • Solides competences en resolution de problemes et proposition de solutions.
  • Solides competences en modelisation Excel et PowerPoint.
  • Communications verbales et ecrites professionnelles, incluant la redaction de rapports.
  • Interat marque pour les finances et le travail dans un environnement de services professionnels.
  • Une maatrise du franaais et de laEUR(TM)anglais.
