Title: Senior Director of Finance and Accounting
Status: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Montreal, Quebec (80% Remote)

Responsibilities:Finance and accounting:
The incumbent oversees a small team that will be responsible for:

  • Manage accounting operations, the production of the general ledger, trial balances
verification and preparation of month-end accounting records
  • Produce monthly and year-end financial statements
  • Prepare the consolidation of financial information according to the constraints
specific to government partners
  • Prepare annual budgets
  • Manage cash flow and relationship with banks
  • Prepare business financing files
  • Carry out financial planning to facilitate CQDM's business decisions
  • Analyze the profitability of internal-external projects according to the company's objectives
  • Assess financial risks and financial opportunities
  • Produce tax returns and manage sales tax records, payroll deductions,
spring, etc.;
  • Supervise the preparation of audit files with the auditors
  • Responsible for technological improvements to optimize accounting processes
  • Supervise regular transactions, investments, and all transactions
that could materially affect the financial health of the business.
Administration and Governance:
  • Supervise the production of activity reports to the government
  • Develop and ensure the implementation of best financial management practices,
administrative and accounting.
  • Prepare and manage meetings of the Board of Directors and sub-committees
  • Take the minutes during board meetings and write the minutes
  • Participate in contract negotiations
  • Manage agreements with partners taking into account all legal aspects
Strategic planning:
  • Contributes to strategic planning and fundraising
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or finance option and holds a
professional accounting designation
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Experience in managing a small team
  • Perfect bilingualism, with an excellent command of written English and French
  • Very good knowledge of the MS Office suite (proficiency in Excel);
  • Good knowledge of accounting software;
  • Legal and tax knowledge would be an asset.
  • Experience in managing financial activities and audits
  • Experience in managing a non-profit organization would be an asset
