What is the opportunity?




With AI playing a bigger role in business, and emerging tech like Quantum on the horizon, there has never been a more exciting time to work in tech communications. In this role you will support the Technology Group Head of a top 15 global financial institution, lead communications for a global team of more than 10,000 employees and protect and enhance RBC's brand and reputation. As a member of RBC's Corporate Communications team, your role is communicate RBC Technology's strategic business goals; help tell our stories on multiple channels; and engage, inform and inspire employees around the world. This position requires significant leadership skills, demonstrated experience supporting C-Suite executives and experience developing and executing strategic communications plans.

What will you do?



Provide strategic internal and external communications counsel to the Group Head of Technology & Operations and other Technology executives Ensure the delivery of high-quality, successful internal communications activities in support of the global tech team's strategic goals Create tailored internal communications and employee engagement strategies a tech team of 10,000+ employees and more than 100,000 global employees Manage a team that develops and executes global employee engagement initiatives including town halls, AMAs, senior leader calls, videos, blog posts and podcasts Manage several internal communications channels including a monthly newsletter and a team-wide intranet, as well as external social media posts for executives Frequent speech writing and presentation development for Group Head of Technology for a variety of audiences including employees, clients and partners Accountable for managing direct reports' work plans, overall performance and delivery on goals Mentor and support the career development of direct reports and junior colleagues

What do you need to succeed?



Must-have



Demonstrated experience in technology communications in a corporate setting and strong understanding of current and emerging tech 10+ years of communications, PR or public affairs experience Undergraduate degree/post-graduate certificate or equivalent in communications, public relations, journalism, English or related field Exceptional written, verbal and presentation communications skills Extensive internal communications, change management and issues management experience Proven track record as a respected strategic advisor to senior executives, with success developing and executing multi-stakeholder communication strategies Familiarity and experience using genAI tools in a work setting
