Job Title Director, Corporate Banking


















What is the opportunity? As a senior member of the Montreal Corporate Banking team, responsible for the coverage of key RBC Capital Market clients. Working with partners in marketing, negotiating and executing credit products solutions as well as identifying and coordinating other product/service opportunities. What will you do?

  • Maintain and build upon RBCCM’s position in the market place, with the goal of being our client’s first call for advice and financial assistance.
  • Integral part of client relationship management – the consistent point of contact for RBCCM’s corporate banking clients.
  • Providing advice to our internal partners on the optimal utilization of lending in connection with RBCCM’s relationship goals.
  • Pitch, structure, complete due diligence and negotiate acquisition/bridge/term loans and corporate revolvers for identified clients and targets.
  • Preparation of credit submissions (transaction requests, transaction/company analysis, financial models, etc.) and other documentation related to the transaction approval process through closing and ongoing monitoring.
  • Provide proactive corporate banking coverage for portfolio clients including identification of cross sell opportunities including cash management, trading/hedging, investment banking and global markets products and services.
  • Proactive portfolio management including timely updates on client, industry and market performance, particularly in connection with any signs of potential deterioration or developments requiring amendments/waivers to existing loan documentation.

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Ability to take initiative and function independently balanced with strong team skills.
Must Have
  • Advanced Degree with a focus in Business, Economics, Mathematics or other quantitative fields, CFA or other relevant professional designation, or acceptable work experience in Corporate lending/finance .
  • 3-5 years of work experience in corporate finance and/or corporate banking including relevant client coverage responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling abilities, as well as superior writing and presentation skills.
  • Bilingual - Fluency in both English and French
