Director of Construction

About the Role:





The Construction Director leads the planning, design, and execution of construction projects across manufacturing plants, clean rooms, laboratories, and corporate facilities. With 7-10 years of progressive experience, the Director ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in line with safety, quality, and sustainability standards. This role balances

hands-on project oversight with strategic leadership

, influencing infrastructure growth across both Canadian and U.S. operations.




What You'll Be Contributing:




Direct all phases of construction projects, including site selection, permitting, design coordination, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and commissioning. Develop and implement project execution strategies that align with corporate growth objectives and local regulations. Lead relationships with contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and municipal authorities across multiple jurisdictions. Oversee the RFP and bid process; negotiate and manage high-value contracts. Monitor budgets and schedules, ensuring proactive risk management and issue resolution. Ensure all construction activities comply with Canadian and U.S. safety, environmental, and building code requirements. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders in Operations, Facilities, Manufacturing, EHS, and Finance to integrate construction plans into organizational strategy. Report on project milestones, risks, and capital investment opportunities to senior leadership.



What Sets You Apart:




Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline. A Master's degree or PMP certification is an asset. 7-10 years of progressive experience in construction project management, including

3-5 years in a leadership role

. Proven success leading large-scale industrial, manufacturing, or high-tech facility construction projects. Strong knowledge of Quebec construction laws, permitting, and building codes, with familiarity across U.S. regulations. Skilled in contract negotiation, budget management, and project delivery. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple concurrent projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with bilingual English/French proficiency strongly preferred. Proficiency in project management software and enterprise-level reporting tools.
