Today, we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for an individual to be a part of the newly created Social Media Centre of Excellence (COE) and lead the Community Management branch of the team. We\'re looking for someone who lives and breathes social media, and who is ready to engage with and grow our brands\' online communities.

This is a pivotal role to our overall success at Loblaw because without meaningful real time content our customers have less visibility to our wonderful products that we bring to our shelves each day. Based in our Brampton office, we are fast paced and a collaborative team working to better grocery shopping, beauty, pharmacy, and loyalty. As the Director, Community Management of the Social Media COE, you will be leading, developing, and executing both the paid and organic social media strategy to maximize both campaign level activities along with always on organic content across major social platforms. This role will have the enormous opportunity to build the best \xe2\x80\x98social media\xe2\x80\x99 experience for our customers nationwide. You will work closely with other marketing, brands, digital, media and communications teams to define the Social Media COE KPIs. You will also work in close collaboration with operations, merchandising and analytics teams.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:
  • Reporting to the Sr. Director, Social Media COE, you will be developing and leading the principles for managing our communities
  • Lead of team who will support our daily community managements across all of our brands
  • Build, lead, and ensure high-impact response to test & learn approach to new social media activities and platforms, such as working with various platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook. Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, Snapchat, and LinkedIn
  • Will manage relationship and deployment with Sprout (our social media management solution)
  • Work closely with the rest of the Social Media COE team within our Marketing team to build strategies and tactics that ladder up to the campaign brief to achieve defined objectives
  • Work directly with brand managers and internal creative agency from strategy to execution - strong focus on relationship building with social media partners and drive incremental value from those partnerships
  • Recommend paid media optimizations (in partnership with Loblaw media agency) as necessary, synthesize media data into actionable insights for future briefings
  • Collaborate with partners to create insightful and actionable Social Media Dashboard to pull insights and reports
  • Create and manage social landscape report to identify opportunities for Loblaw to engage in relevant and timely events in Canada


Does this sound like you?
  • 5+ years of marketing and advertising experience, with at least 2 years in a strategic capacity & content creation experience
  • Paid Social Media Marketing experience - must understand and have executed paid social campaigns across major (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest) and emerging social media platforms (TikTok, Snap, etc.)
  • Proven understanding of Canadian media landscape, and positive relationships with Canadian retail, customer service, EPG would be an asset
  • Proven experience providing recommendations to different internal brand leads who own their respective campaign budgets
  • Experience having ownership of organic social content driving the planning across multiple brands with varying priorities
  • You\xe2\x80\x99re a self-starter that\xe2\x80\x99s comfortable working with and interpreting Web Analytics platforms like Omniture and Google Analytics to access data-driven and last touch attribution in an effort to evaluate effectiveness of Social media strategy on omni-channel results
  • Experience either building or adapting content to best maximize the performance and engagement of content through brand owned social platforms
  • Experience managing complex and fast-moving issues while working with limited supervision.
  • Incredible attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Very strong writing and communication skills
  • Knowledge of social media analytics and reporting
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work cross-divisionally and functionally and balance the interests of multiple stakeholders
  • Passion for food and building the best customer experiences
