Job Title: Director, Community Giving
Reporting To: Vice President, Philanthropy
Purpose: To catalyze resources in support of the greatest system of parks and Indigenous protected areas in the world.

• An experienced fundraising leader, with the ability to develop and execute impactful fundraising strategies that align with organizational goals
• A strong communicator who can effectively engage and inspire a diverse range of potential funders, tailoring your approach to different audiences
• Experienced in developing, managing and optimizing annual budgets, ensuring resource allocation aligns with strategic priorities
• Highly skilled in data segmentation and analysis, using insights to drive decision-making and measure the effectiveness of fundraising campaigns
• Capable of offering data-driven recommendations to improve fundraising efforts, optimize donor engagement, and increase revenue generation
• Skilled in building and maintaining strong relationships, with good sense of humour and genuine manner
• A strategic thinker and problem solver, adept at identifying challenges, collaborating on solutions, and driving innovation to achieve fundraising goals

Role Summary:
Reporting to the VP Philanthropy, the new role of Director, Community Giving will drive revenue growth through crowdfunding campaigns, regional community partnerships, direct mail, monthly giving, online fundraising, in honour gifts, in memory gifts, and third-party events to advance BC Park Foundation's mission. This role will collaborate internally to establish strategies and plans that are aligned across the organization to achieve the Foundation's fundraising targets.
Responsibilities:
The Director, Community Giving will:
• In collaboration with the VP, Philanthropy, develop and implement an annual giving strategy to drive revenue and increase donor participation in support of BC Parks Foundation's mission and long-term sustainability
• In collaboration with the VP, Philanthropy, establish goals, key metrics, implementation plans, and tracking to achieve annual objectives
• Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of crowdfunding, direct mail, email, phone, and online giving campaigns; make data-driven recommendations for future campaigns
• Overseea growing team of fundraising professionals; provide leadership, coaching, and performance management
• Develop and manage department specific budget; ensure all initiatives are executed on time and within budget
• Manage and grow a portfolio of donors, through cultivation and stewardship activities that set a positive example for the team
• Ensure integration of annual giving efforts with other fundraising initiatives, such as major gifts and planned giving
• Develop strategies to move donors through the giving pipeline, from initial gift to major gift cultivation
• Collaborate with Director, Individual and Corporate Giving, to manage a donor stewardship program; ensure timely and meaningful recognition of all gifts
• Utilize data and analytics to identify new prospects, assess capacity, and tailor solicitation strategies
• Collaborate with other departments (e.g. marketing, communications, programming) to ensure cohesive messaging and donor engagement strategies
• Contribute to a constructive, results oriented, and inspiring organizational culture
• Other duties as required
Requirements:
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, with a focus on annual giving, and 3 years as a people leader
• Completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent
• Proven leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and motivating a team to achieve common goals and objectives
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in donor management software (Salesforce.com or similar CRM)
• Knowledge of best practices in donor relations, stewardship, and segmentation
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
Skills and experience considered an asset:
• MBA or equivalent preferred
• Fluency in a second language
