POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director, Business Performance & Analytics (BP&A) is accountable for the development, deployment and reporting of the business lines’ performance measurement models and business development related incentive plans. Moreover, the incumbent would support CFO and executives’ decision making through business analytics, design of effective performance measures and recommending scorecard performance objectives in alignment with regional- and/or business-specific goals in the Corporate Plan and strategic priorities.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET


  • Drive the annual cycle of business lines scorecard development and deployment that effectively and efficiently translates the business strategy into key measures for the business.

  • Responsible for the monthly comprehensive and value-added analyses based on models and proactively offer senior management insight on business lines scorecard performance founded on discoveries-, including corrective actions to pursue, if necessary.

  • Provide expertise and collaborate with Financing Operation Support (FOS) team on the design of effective objectives that drive the business lines’ success.

  • Accountable of the process and production of quantitative measures for the individual performance objectives (Financing Performance Guideline). Develop and maintain a performance measure monitoring framework.

  • Continuously improve and adapt the performance measurement modeling processes and methodology to assess impacts on objective and measurement designs, given varying levels of business performance to ensure operational and financial sustainability.

  • Develop, recommend and implement a technology-driven business analytics approach for performance measurement modelling and reporting. Ensure quality data collection, adapt through data engineering and analysis from internal systems and external sources.

  • Prepare and present in-depth analysis and recommendations related to loan process productivity and efficiency to senior management and key stakeholders for business decisions.

  • Enhance and evolve the operational cost allocation model for return on risk adjusted capital model. Provide operational cost insight to support CFO and executives in investment decisions related to our operational activities

  • Accountable for internal controls and governance for performance measure models under his/her responsibility. Provide senior management with timely and accurate financial information and analysis (including validated exceptions)

  • Lead, develop and motivate a team of highly skilled professional data engineers with business knowledge and familiar with data infrastructure of BDC. Optimise our use of time to focus on value added activities and promote a data driven culture with internal stakeholders.

  • Source and research sector best practices, including the provision of relevant benchmark data and KPIs, ensuring their accuracy and usefulness, as well as their comprehension.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration/finance/information technology

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in data mining, business intelligence, performance measures, variable compensation programs and operations

  • Experience in the financial services industry a definite asset

  • Experience in operation and business processes

  • Strong financial, problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Leadership and influence capabilities

  • Curious and interested about data engineering and data visualization

  • Detail oriented and patient

  • Strong ability to work under pressure, excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage time, prioritize and meet tight deadlines

  • Excellent knowledge of financial mathematics and Excel

  • Interpersonal and supervisory skills and ability to effectively obtain information and communicate issues and requests to others

  • Good communication skills (written and spoken) in both English and French
