JOB PURPOSE
Part of the Supply Chain family, Procurement is responsible for materials and services spend globally with thousands of suppliers, over half of them in MBS. Getting the right services and materials, sustainably sourced and ensuring responsible procurement is critical to ensuring our brands with purpose grow. Our teams work closely with the business to understand stakeholders needs, bring innovation to meet changing consumer, employees and customer’s needs, and drive financial value for Unilever through competitive buying. We’re at the forefront of digital procurement, bringing new tools and analytics to drive data-based decisions.
The director will drive effectiveness of our business services procurement by bringing expert strategic sourcing solutions across Unilever at scale, leveraging knowledge, relationships, and business strategies across the Unilever ecosystem.
The role will foster a culture of collaboration and agility to enable an effective and efficient organization. He/she will serve as relationship owner and business partner to key stakeholders across Unilever (Business Groups, Business Units, Business Operations, and other functions) to understand and identify business needs for the short, medium, and long term, and leverage internal and external parties to develop and deliver future-fit procurement solutions. This role is responsible for leading a team of approximately 80 people based around the globe.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Create value for the business through the strategic procurement and supplier management of business services across Unilever worldwide.

  • Build strong networks with internal senior stakeholders and actively partner with them to create supplier enabled strategies and solutions to meet business objectives.

  • Connect strategy and execution aligned to Unilever Business Groups, Business Units, and Functions’ goals and priorities, in accordance with Procurement with Purpose and One Marketing & Business Services (MBS) strategies and principles, to create business value.

  • Develop and maintain knowledge and relationships of external supply community including supplier capabilities and thought leadership in the relevant spend areas. Provide industry knowledge, expertise, and strategic guidance to internal stakeholders leveraging external solutions and capabilities.

  • Lead supplier relationships and implement Partners with Purpose strategy, balancing a portfolio of global and local suppliers to drive growth in accordance with our plans, including a focus on Sustainability and Responsible Sourcing strategies.

  • Lead rigorous execution of the priorities and transformation initiatives across the globe and be an active champion of Collaborative Procurement Model (CPM) for Business Services.

  • Deliver on financial targets and other KPIs as per business plan objectives. This role is accountable for delivery of results from all Business Groups, Business Units, functions and markets globally.

  • Lead internal performance management and reporting including creation and stewardship of relevant key performance indicators.

  • Ensure Portfolio fundamentals (such as data consistency, data insights, stakeholder communications, contracts, etc.) are put in place and effectively maintained. Future-proof the portfolio by driving innovation and digital approaches, while building technology enablers to help manage selected portfolio and scope.

  • Partner with UniOps Supplier Operations, Vendor Management , and other key internal business partners on business process optimization, supplier performance management, and governance.

  • Engage, develop and retain key talent across the team. Effectively lead engaged, high-performing teams to inspire and support our people and their well-being while delivering business results.

  • Serve on MBS Leadership Team to provide thought leadership, strategy, execution, and expertise to MBS worldwide.


ALL ABOUT YOU
Qualification/experience

  • Relevant years of experience in Services Procurement/supply chain experience, including proven and deep experience in relevant indirect procurement portfolios or related field

  • Strategic sourcing, portfolio strategy and/or supply management expertise, with experience in managing complex portfolio/category at global or multi-regional level

  • Expert in negotiation and contracting complex deals

  • Understanding of supply market, value chain, and FMCG knowledge. Knowledge of Business Services portfolios and supply markets a strong plus.

  • Experience in strategic supplier relationship management.

  • Experience in large-scale project management.

  • Demonstrated and proven leadership capabilities to lead a virtual global team.

  • Experience in shaping and leading transformational business process reengineering, with experience driving Change Management initiatives.

  • Knowledge of and passion for sustainability, including social sustainability.
