Job Description

Our client is a North American leader in the recreational sports and entertainment industry. To date, they have hosted more than 2M participants at 18 locations across Canada & the US. They offer a wide range of activities for individuals, teams, leagues, or corporate groups to take part in. As a part of their strategic growth initiatives, they are looking to bring on a seasoned sales leader to define, develop, and execute their newest commercial division for North America.

About the role: Director of Business Development (Home-office)

  • Reporting directly to the CEO, you will spearhead the creation of the newest commercial business unit to extend their North American reach
  • Own and execute the following;
  • Create sales strategies, processes, and outbound sales efforts to drive B2B sales
  • Develop a repeatable and scalable sales strategy to be rolled out across all 12 locations across North America
  • Identify
  • Work collaboratively with the internal marketing team to develop appropriate sales collateral and marketing initiatives to align with the sales strategy
  • Lead initial business development and outbound sales activities to start drumming up business
  • Built a hiring and recruitment strategy to hire, train, and build sales team across North America
  • Lead, mentor, and support a growing B2B sales team
  • Work directly with General Managers from each location to ensure profitability
  • This is a remote/home-office based role that will not require you to report to an office but will require some travel to the different locations across North America
Compensation:
  • Base salary + commission + bonus

Required Experience
  • We are looking for a seasoned sales and leadership professional with 5+ years of experience
  • You MUST be highly ambitious and a 'builder' by nature - someone who thrives in an unstructured environment where they need to own and execute on all business objectives
  • Related industry experience with a preference for entertainment, sports, events, or experiential marketing
