What you\'ll be doing

Capital Markets and Direct Financial Services provide integrated services and products aimed at serving investors as well as corporate and institutional clients globally. The Capital Markets business is a recognized leader in the industry specializing in investment banking advisory services, corporate lending and research. In addition, the Direct Financial Services arm provides alternate services and solutions such as direct investing, direct banking and unique international payment solutions. Collectively, these lines of business are achieving CIBC\xe2\x80\x99s core purpose: to help make our clients\xe2\x80\x99 ambitions a reality.

Business Architecture supports the strategic change of our business processes and related infrastructure support network as we implement new technology into our trading businesses. The team works to bridge the gap between product and process, facilitating evolution in support of our growing Capital Markets businesses, ensuring that we can implement front to back solutions in the most optimal and expedite manner, ultimately supporting revenue growth, product expansion, and cost control whilst remaining on purpose. This includes identification of synergies across businesses in order to strive for single solutions to technology investment and processes

Working closely with the various change programs, the group is responsible for designing and driving innovative solutions to process change & workflows, ensuring that controls are maintained or enhanced (risk reducing), while optimal use of the trading platform and all its functionality is achieved. Specifically working with downstream teams to deliver technology and process solutions against their core requirements and not just their current process.

Facilitation and building partnerships are key elements to the role, and the candidate will be responsible for building consensus, mediating & facilitating business initiatives between teams, ensuring the right groups are engaged for efficiency in business architecture changes\xe2\x80\x93 business, risk management, finance, regulatory, operations, legal.

This role provides the opportunity for proactive management, issue resolution for infrastructure partners, driving forward initiatives & contributing to the design & idea\xe2\x80\x99s innovative solutions in the early stages of business vision.

How you\'ll succeed

Provide key support to the platform implementation programs as it relates to downstream activities, providing proactive management in partnership with the infrastructure groups to deliver against their core requirements and functions.

Act as an interface between business and application owners, Risk Management, Finance, Operations and Technology, providing vital change management support as we implement new technology and adapt or design new processes.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with the various Lines of Business, and Infrastructure groups, understand their expectations, and deliver tailored yet strategic solutions to all groups as it relates to their use of core technology in support of their core functions.

Analyze core functions and build economic measurement tools as it relates to process cost and benefit tracking as we implement change.

Ability to look strategically across business lines for areas of opportunities for synergies and standardization of efficiencies.

Accessible to the business throughout the day to actively respond to information requirements/requests and resolve day-to-day issues.

Act on ad-hoc requests/projects as required in a timely manner.

Assist the ED to evaluate the quality of key control environment, lead specific risk assessments and develop test plans and review testing of key controls.

Support LOB on CIBC-wide project implementation, including the development of policy / procedures, development of project plans, business requirements, executive presentation and training materials.

Work effectively within CIBC\'s risk appetite, corporate governance practices, policies and procedures (e.g., Risk Management, Finance, Human Resources, Legal and Compliance) to ensure all potential risks are appropriately managed and that CIBC legal/reputational issues and shareholder objectives are achieved.

Who you are

Desirable to have a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with experience in Capital Markets and/or Operational groups.

Must have a deep understanding of Capital Markets products, both from a trading and life cycle perspective.

Must have proven people and project management skills as well as an ability to work in isolation while being a team player within many core areas.

Must have superior business planning and project management skills with ability to effectively manage a team.

Should have the ability to drive the strategic direction of the group and exploit trends/opportunities.

Must have strong interpersonal and networking skills and demonstrate the ability to work as a team player.

Strong problem solving, analytical, judgment and change-implementation capabilities.

Should have demonstrated commitment to client satisfaction.

Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Strong multitasking and time-management skills - Ability to manage deadlines while balancing multiple priorities.

Ability to work in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment.

Individual should be a delivery focused self-starter, with the ability to be able to work independently and take ownership.

Excellent work ethic.

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

Experience in Agile Methodology or SCRUM qualifications useful.
