The Broadcast Investment Director is responsible for developing a high-performing team of Managers and Supervisors while providing guidance on client and campaign strategy. The Broadcast Investment Director is responsible for overseeing the entire buying and implementation process of Broadcast Investment for their dedicated media brands and clients. This role is critical in partnering and working with senior management to shape the overall corporate investment direction while overseeing the quality standards of their team\xe2\x80\x99s deliverables.

  • Effectively supports, coaches, and develops a team of people leaders.
  • Managed and conducts team\xe2\x80\x99s goal setting and annual performance appraisals.
  • Communicates deadlines and business goals to people leaders.
  • Leads team resources in an agile way to deliver optimal service for media brands and other stakeholders.
  • Drives employee retention by supporting and championing programs that help retain top broadcast talent in Canada.
  • Grows the sophistication of the team\xe2\x80\x99s media knowledge, expanding into data and technology through workshops and training seminars.
  • Drives operation excellence in all media investment process and activities.
  • Implementation of a continuous improvement culture to achieve improved broadcast media deliver and operations in coordination with Media and Performance Operations leadership.
  • Leads and drives positive working relationships with vendors and guides vendor selection to support the corporate commercial investment direction.
  • Identifies development areas to help achieve and drive team performance goals for the year.
  • Drives Media Brand and client adoption of DAN capabilities, e.g. The Story Lab, Dentsu Data Labs, Cardinal Path, ICUC, etc.
  • Develops the deliver buy structures that encompass the best environments for each client\xe2\x80\x99s target audience, while maximizing value and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Media, Advertising, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
  • A minimum of 6 years of media planning and/or buying experience focused on Broadcast Channels and a minimum of 3-year experience leading a team.
  • Ability to demonstrative creativity in negotiations and act as the conduit to media brands.
  • Previous experience with support new business efforts at the Network or brand level.
  • Subject matter expert in developing broadcast investment strategies that meet and exceed client goals.
  • High-level of confidence with an ability to manage expectations with internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Advanced analytical skills and proficient with numbers and budgets to illustrate client business objectives.
  • Advanced level MS Office skills: Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP\xe2\x80\x99s), Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Experienced with broadcast industry tools (Lens, Infosys, DDS, AdTraq, etc.).
