Director and CEO - Art Gallery of Nova Scotia Located on Canada\'s beautiful east coast, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia (AGNS) is at the forefront of contemporary art in Canada and is the influential voice of Nova Scotia\'s cultural heritage. With locations in downtown Halifax and Yarmouth, the AGNS is the largest art museum in Atlantic Canada. A leader in contemporary Canadian art, the Gallery has been a gateway for the visual arts in Atlantic Canada and is committed to this mission as an agency of the Province of Nova Scotia and one of the premier arts institutions in Canada. The AGNS is also responsible for acquiring, preserving and exhibiting works of art, and for providing education in the visual arts. The Gallery\'s Permanent Collection currently holds over 19,000 works and includes over 4,000 artists and is proud to welcome over 60,000 visitors annually from across Canada and the world. Working collaboratively with and reporting to the Board of Directors, the Director and Chief Executive Officer will be the face of the organization and the champion for the mandate, mission and vision of the AGNS. As key spokesperson and ambassador for the Gallery locally and nationally, you will be a catalyst for stakeholder relationship building and community engagement to invite participation and cultivate support for this important institution. The CEO will enhance the AGNS\' profile with public and private stakeholders to enhance the capacity of the organization to exhibit thought-provoking art and related programming for Nova Scotians and our visitors. As the Director and CEO you have executive-level leadership experience, accompanied by a deep appreciation and knowledge of the visual arts. You have strong experience leading within a complex, multi-stakeholder organization where the public sector is a major partner. You love to work with people of different interests to find creative, mutually beneficial solutions to complex challenges. You are known as a connector and as someone who operates with the utmost integrity through complex conversations. You haven\'t met a challenge you didn\'t want to face head-on. The CEO will provide thoughtful guidance and servant leadership to their team, the Board, volunteers and external stakeholders as they spearhead the philanthropic, marketing and community engagement work needed to continue to stabilize the Gallery\'s operational and program funding. This role will require significant externally-facing stakeholder engagement, from government to donors to the greater public, as you envision the way the AGNS will move into its next phase of growth. With big projects on the table such as new physical infrastructure, a new governance model and increasing exposure for Nova Scotia\'s world-class art, the CEO will bring considerable fundraising and business acumen to their passion for visual arts.
