Your Opportunity:The Director of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Surveillance and Standards is a key leadership role within the provincial IPC program, reporting directly to the IPC Senior Provincial Director. This role operates within a triad leadership model alongside IPC Medical Leads and IPC Operational Executive Directors and Directors. The Director is responsible for providing both strategic and operational leadership in planning, delivering, and evaluating the IPC Surveillance and Standards portfolio across all five zones. This includes the collection and reporting of IPC outcome and process surveillance data, as well as publicly reported performance measures. Additionally, the Director will coordinate and align provincial initiatives and compliance monitoring with applicable provincial and national standards. This role directs and liaises with other AHS Zone and Provincial Executive Leadership dyads on local and provincial initiatives affecting IPC. Such initiatives include health service planning, pandemic/disaster management coordination, and the development of best practice guidance. The Director provides expertise and guidance to local, provincial, and national governments, as well as other organizations and post-secondary institutions. Working closely with IPC operational program leads, the Director develops innovative education and learning strategies that integrate IPC principles into daily healthcare provider practice, leading to positive patient outcomes. Additionally, the Director is accountable for the human resources and fiscal management of the Surveillance and Standards portfolio. Required Qualifications:Minimum of a graduate degree in Epidemiology, Business, Public Health, or a Health Discipline along with 5 years progressive leadership in a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Practical experience in strategy, policy development, leadership and project and program management. Knowledge of and experience in working with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Skilled in strategic planning, considering long-term goals, assessing options and implications. Proficient in change leadership through innovative problem solving. Excellent knowledge of political sensitivities and the diverse interest of numerous stakeholders. Active Licensure with a professional regulatory body is required, as applicable. A demonstrated pattern of professional and personal development is an asset. Equivalencies in education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:As required.
Preferred Qualifications:Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred. Practical content knowledge in all areas of Infection Prevention and Control. Relevant acute and/or long-term care IPC experience.
