Job Description

High-quality digital scans of glass slides give subspecialty pathologists the detail required to make fast, accurate patient diagnoses. As a Digital Pathology Scanning Assistant, you'll operate whole slide imaging technology, oversee quality control, and coordinate with various teams to prioritize and deliver cases in support of patient care. Take your skills further here at Mount Sinai Hospital, as you contribute to patient care in a truly modern clinical laboratory environment.

Is this you?

In this setting, your critical thinking will help strengthen clinical decisions.

Are you adaptable in fast-moving environments where priorities can shift quickly? In pathology and laboratory medicine, urgent cases are part of the daily workflow. You're comfortable adjusting your plan and responding to evolving needs, always focused on maintaining efficiency and meeting turnaround time standards. Attention to detail defines your work. Reconciling, matching, retrieving, and filing data in numerical order is a responsibility you approach with thoroughness. Scanned slides are always organized for easy retention, supporting both efficient workflow and reliable storage for future reference. Your thorough process extends to assessing the quality of each scan. This includes recognizing visual artifacts and knowing exactly when an image requires rescanning to meet clinical standards required for diagnostic accuracy.
