About the Role

The Digital Media Director will be responsible for creating and overseeing all digital content from pitch to production and be comfortable tailoring their creative approach to concepts that target specific platforms and audiences. You will be reporting to ET Canada's Co-Executive Producer and be responsible for leading a team and newsgathering, assigning, evaluating and approving projects as well as a strong sense for entertainment news and the ability to strategize on how to handle breaking entertainment news.

The successful candidate will be adept at analyzing data and using analytics to hit revenue targets for all major social media platforms. They should also have extensive knowledge and a proven track record of developing creative methods to keep recirculation high, keep audiences in our digital environments longer, and generate multiple revenue opportunities.

You'll be working on things like:

  • Support the Co-Executive Producer in all areas of digital production, administration and leadership as required.
  • Lead, mentor, assign and approve all content creation/development for all digital producers and producer/editors.
  • Responsible for overseeing digital content and ensuring diversity, quality control, content accuracy, social sensitivities, and all legal policies and procedures are met.
  • Interpret data and analytics to efficiently and effectively hit revenue targets for all major social media platforms.
  • Work with Executive Producers to create/develop multiple ways to generate digital revenue on digital platforms.
  • Liaise with Co-Executive Producer and syndication partners to ensure the brand meets revenue and metrics targets on digital platforms.
  • Responsible for creating and collaborating on new digital revenue streams.
  • Develop methods to keep recirculation high and keep audiences in our environment longer.
  • Connect with talent and integrations (branded content) team to create and develop successful digital content.
  • Continue to build a roster of industry contacts and connect with managers, publicists, agents, studios, labels and reps to secure celebrity access, interviews and exclusive content with top tier talent.
  • Offer insight and input as a representative of ET Canada in Corus digital stakeholder meetings to ensure all digital needs and requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with U.S. counterpart to ensure style guide is in line with the ET brand.
  • Foster an environment of shared success, team work and engagement.
If you have the following... we want to hear from you!:
  • Post secondary education in Marketing, Advertising, Graphic Design, Business or a related field.
  • First-rate level of knowledge of current entertainment trends including movies, music, TV, lifestyle and reality.
  • Self-motivated & proactive with the ability to multi-task individually/on a team in a high-stress, fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • At least 5 years of proven leadership skills with the knowledge to oversee projects and people.
  • Ability to analyze real time data and make editorial decisions based on that data
  • Solid understanding of programming and demographics.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to collaborate in the production process and to receive and implement feedback
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational, planning, time management and problem solving skills.
  • Exceptional knowledge of the production process from conception to completion.
  • Excellent research, writing, grammar, verbal and communication skills.
  • Exceptional editorial judgement in entertainment news and events.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, ENPS, WordPress, Photoshop and Hootsuite
  • Strong knowledge of all social media platforms and functions.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality
  • A creative mind with the ability to think outside the box
  • A positive attitude with the ability receive and implement feedback.
