The main role of this position is to increase access to digital resources for World Skills clients and staff and to reduce gaps in digital services across the organization. This individual will be responsible for the ongoing development of digital literacy workshops, instructional training, and engaging online materials to ensure that clients and staff can fully access, participate and engage in virtual services, and learn the skills necessary to navigate online resources. This role entails a high degree of autonomy, initiative, and leadership for the execution of the tasks described. The successful candidate will demonstrate personal commitment to, and understanding of the World Skills mission, vision, values and participant outcomes. Major Responsibilities: Client and Staff Support

  • Identify client and staff needs for digital support related to accessing and delivering remote services
  • Provide technical support to clients and staff with the use of digital technologies such as Zoom, Teams, etc.
  • Maintain existing World Skills e-learning content on the LearnDash platform and others, including the LASI Portal in collaboration with the managers
  • Facilitate and manage client?s access and engagement on the e-learning platforms and the LASI Portal
  • Liaise with technology consultants as needed, related to the maintenance and management of the e-learning platforms
  • Contribute to maintaining an effective hybrid workplace model for World Skills staff and clients by researching and recommending the implementation of best practices
  • Work together with World Skills teams and external stakeholders to implement initiatives related to clients? access to remote services, such as, evaluating the services, organizing focus groups, creating new opportunities for clients to access services, etc.
  • Attend staff meetings, team meetings and other external meetings as required and share best practices with colleagues
  • Perform other duties from time to time, as required by the organization
Training and Workshop Coordination
  • Design and deliver digital training sessions and workshops for clients using adult learning principles, with the goal to increase digital literacy and familiarity with accessing remote services, in collaboration with World Skills teams
Reporting
  • Enter and maintain client information (referrals, notes etc.) in centralized profile tracking system and database
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy files and collect client testimonials as applicable
  • Document client interventions in database and generate reports according to program needs
  • Contribute to narrative and other reports as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary education in Technology/Computer Science or a related field with 2-3 years of progressive experience in digital or technology related roles
  • Fluency in English (oral and written) is essential, and other languages are an asset (e.g. French, Arabic, Ukrainian)
  • Advanced skills in communication, writing, MS Office and current technologies
  • Experience in workshop coordination and group facilitation is an asset
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by newcomers to Canada
  • Flexible, responsive and open to learning and contributing to a range of organizational activities to add value to our work
  • Sound intercultural communication skills, diplomacy, maturity and integrity
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team in a multi-cultural environment
  • Experience in effectively running programs in a virtual environment, including creatively interfacing with digital platforms and utilizing digital tools to engage participants in meaningful experiences is an asset
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is imperative
  • Ability to work under pressure, to communicate effectively (verbal and written), to establish priorities and deal with tight timelines
  • A strong work ethic having the needs of the organization and the clients as the primary priority
World Skills operates in a hybrid environment. This position is currently expected to work in the office a minimum of 1 day per week, plus in-person meetings or events as required. In the future, staff will be expected to work in the office 2-3 days a week.
