Overview



The primary focus of the Digital Fabrication Foreman is to act as a bridge between the Design and Fabrication teams. This is a key role within the company - it serves as the front of line for almost all production staff. Major duties include leading the CNC portion of the production team (Programmers & Operators), assessing / developing best practices for all CNC related tasks, CNC nesting / programming, assisting design with 3D modelling (QC production details meet internal standards), work-holding Strategies, maintaining shop stock / tooling inventory, and general quality control. As the Digital Fabrication Foreman, you will report directly to the Production Manager and will work closely with both the Design and Production teams.An obsession with furniture, wood assemblies, 3D modelling, organization, and leadership are assets to this role - RFP is in the process of reinforcing a strong working culture. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



Attend design and production meetings on behalf of the Digital Fabrication team. Review and provide feedback to the design team on active projects ensuring that best practices are being adhered to. Support in the development and implementation of the RFP standard details catalog outlining approved connection details and assembly strategies for all products. Develop processes and operating procedures to improve efficiency and quality of output from the digital fabrication department. Advise on all hires for CNC department staff. Advise on capital improvements for the CNC department (software and machinery). Extract part files, review material thicknesses and ensure that 3D models are ready for production . Assist with the Preparations of BOM's for production. Nest and Program jobs for the CNC machines. Update existing component and sub-assembly drawings to current ISO standards. Construct and revise 2D & 3D models using AutoCAD & Fusion360. Assist in the Development of project documentations such as bills of materials, detail and assembly drawings, manufacturing instructions, and RFF release packages. Maintain up-to-date records of hours spent on each project. Recommend and implement process improvement projects as required. Produce production drawings for jigs to assist with construction and installations. Participate in production and/or solution meetings as required. Respond to shop requests for problem solving assistance. Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay: $95,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
