Recruitment range $69,052- $76,129

starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.

Performance range: $89,791

Objectives:



The Digital Communications Officer reports to the Director, Communications & Marketing. As the senior social media expert on the Gustavson marketing & communications team, this role is key to enhancing Gustavson's reputation with external audiences and achieving the school's strategic objectives in the areas of brand, recruitment and external engagement. With minimal oversight and using excellent judgment, the role is responsible for:

Managing strategy and operation of Gustavson's social media accounts Monitoring, moderating and responding to social media conversations, including reputation management Overseeing, hiring and managing students for the school's social media ambassador program Proactively developing and maintaining a social media content calendar, including content submitted by others Creating compelling and on-brand multi-media content for digital channels Educating internal stakeholders on the strategic and on-brand use of social media and other digital channels
This position supervises work-study and casual part-time students and is occasionally required to work outside of normal office hours.


Job Requirements
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study (communications/marketing, public relations digital media) and a minimum of five years' experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified.


An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Knowledge, skills and abilities include:

Expert knowledge of social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, YouTube, etc. and managing online community activities Strong project management, organizational skills, and coordination of content calendars Fluency in digital communication tactics including the development of strategic social media plans Sound knowledge and experience of content management systems for social (ex. Hootsuite, Sprout Social) and project management (e.g. Asana, MS suite) Proficient use of software and apps such as Photoshop, XD, iMovie, Lightroom, Quik, Adobe Clip, Canva to edit photos and social videos Skillful use of digital metrics and KPIs to gauge content performance, audience profiles, etc. Creating effective social content for different audiences and a range of channels in line with strategy Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and tailor communication style and medium for different audiences and situations Ability to motivate, guide and direct others in art direction, content creation and distribution
Competency requirements include:

Ability to problem-solve with maturity, tact, diplomacy and sound judgment
