Your Opportunity:
The successful incumbent for this 1.0 FTE Dietitian II Program Lead position will join the Nutrition Services\' leadership team and provide clinical practice support for the inpatient and ambulatory adult care dietitian groups at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Sturgeon Community Hospital, and Leduc Community Hospital. This position will report to, and work closely in collaboration with, the Manager Nutrition Services for RAH, SCH and LCH, working onsite out of the RAH while providing remote support to SCH and LCH sites; occasional travel to these sites will be required. The successful candidate will orientate, mentor and provide performance-enhancing feedback to frontline dietitians and foster a positive, supportive and innovative work environment that promotes employee growth, development and ingenuity. This position will build effective, sustainable working relationships with dietitians, management, zone and provincial colleagues and external stakeholders and lead/support planning, development and evaluation of zone and provincial nutrition-based initiatives; this will require a broad scope of knowledge regarding various clinical areas and the ability to solicit feedback and facilitate consensus building. Assessment of clinical positions and workload distribution, participation on various working groups, identification of opportunities for program enhancements, surveillance and oversight of quality improvement initiatives and associated risks, collaboration on practice-based research, collaboration with the dietetic internship program, and completion of chart audits in comparison to performance indicators are additional activities that this position will participate in. Lastly, the successful candidate will maintain a frontline clinical role, providing support to either inpatients or ambulatory care at the RAH; exact clinical areas to be determined.
Description:
As a Dietitian II, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes while functioning as the lead in the coordination of nutrition services in an assigned service area. You may coordinate the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area, provide practice support to other Dietitians, as well as identify staff development needs and opportunities for continuing education. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information. You may also facilitate the design, integration and coordination of strategies from provincial, zone and community perspectives. This work can include program planning and development and overseeing all aspects of programs relating to nutrition in target populations.
