This is an opportunity for you to become part of a dynamic nutrition team in the city of Medicine Hat. Medicine Hat is located in southern Alberta and is one of Canada's sunniest cites, experiencing warm summers and mild winters. Medicine Hat is Alberta's sixth largest city with a population of over 60,000 residents and offers an excellent quality of life that includes big-city amenities without big-city costs. Residents enjoy plenty of choice in goods, services, and activities within 10 or 15 minutes of most residential neighborhoods. An all-year playground, Medicine Hat boasts seven golf courses, over 90 kilometers of paved recreational trails, 100 parks, four water play parks, and the 20-story high Saamis Teepee - the largest tepee in the world. As an acute care and home care Dietitian in this community, you would be a frontline professional within Nutrition Services reporting to the Manager, Nutrition Services, South Zone. In this position, 0.6 FTE of your time will be directed to acute care. You will be responsible for assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating nutrition care plans for pediatric and neonatal patients in acute care and pediatric specialty clinic practice areas. The remaining 0.2 FTE of your time will be providing care of adult patients in the home care or supportive living setting. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team in both facility and community settings in the practice areas you cover to provide patient and family centered care.
Description:
As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.
