About the Opportunity

Under the direction of the Manager, the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer must organize and perform Ultrasound examinations, in an efficient and professional manner. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Team performs patient care, technical activities and duties directly related to the overall functioning of the department. The purpose of this position involves the performance of routine and specialized ultrasound procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department ensuring proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.

Travel to other sites may be required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
  • Sonography Canada certification
  • Eligible for Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Comprehension of the technical language in order to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions
  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Registration with more than one ultrasound credential is an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

We are hiring for the following permanent full-time opportunities across Nova Scotia Health:

For Western Zone:
  • One permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly, Yarmouth Regional Hospital
For Northern Zone:
  • Two permanent full-time positions; 75 hours biweekly, Aberdeen Hospital
For Central Zone:
  • Three permanent full-time positions; 75 hours biweekly, QEII Site (Halifax)
All positions may require on call, shift work, evenings, nights and weekends; may also require some travel

Compensation & Incentives

$33.57 - $39.18 hourly

Successful candidates will be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Successful candidates may be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance for a return of service commitment.
