Job Overview

The Developmental Service Worker plays a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities. This position involves assisting clients in daily living activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. The Developmental Service Worker will be working alongside the team in the home to deliver the best care.

Duties

Assist clients with personal care tasks, including feeding, grooming, diaper changes, toileting and dressing. Provide medication administration as prescribed and ensure proper documentation. Support clients in daily living activities such as meal preparation. Engage clients in recreational and social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being. Monitor and document client progress and any changes in behavior or health status. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist clients with mobility needs, including transferring and heavy lifting when necessary.

Skills

Strong patient care skills with a focus on compassion and empathy. Experience in working with special needs adults Ability to perform medication administration accurately and responsibly. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Capability to handle heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining proper body mechanics. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while providing quality care. Able to pivot and become creative with planning activities Taking the client out in the community

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
