About the Role
We're looking for a skilled and action-oriented fundraiser to help drive our mission forward.
The Development Manager supports the design and leads the execution of Camp Scugog's fundraising strategy, with a focus on major gifts, grants, annual giving, donor stewardship, and our annual fundraising event.
This is a remote-first position, with occasional in-person expectations for donor meetings, team retreats, and events at camp in Nestleton, ON.
You'll thrive in this role if you're a relationship-builder with strong major gift experience, excellent writing skills, and the ability to balance strategic insight with hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities
Execute Camp Scugog's fundraising strategy across major gifts, grants, annual giving, and events.
Manage a personal portfolio of donors ($1,000-$50,000+), cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding long-term relationships.
Research, write, and manage grants for foundations, corporations, and government funders.
Plan and execute Camp Scugog's annual fundraising event and seasonal campaigns.
Re-engage lapsed donors with tailored strategies and touchpoints.
Develop compelling proposals, reports, and stewardship materials that reflect donor impact.
Maintain accurate donor and funder records in the CRM.
Partner with program staff to develop funding proposals and share impact stories.
Track and analyze fundraising activity and outcomes; adjust tactics as needed to meet annual goals.
Ensure all fundraising practices comply with CRA and Imagine Canada standards.
Strengthen systems, templates, and reporting tools that support sustainable growth.
Qualifications & Experience
5-8 years of fundraising experience with proven success in major gifts ($5,000+) and donor stewardship.
Demonstrated experience in grant writing and relationship management.
Strong communication and storytelling skills, able to engage and inspire donors.
Experience planning and delivering successful fundraising events.
Experience with e-tapestry or other CRM platforms
Strategic thinker and self-starter who thrives in a small, collaborative nonprofit.
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and ethical fundraising.
Police background check with vulnerable sector screening required.

Compensation
We're committed to equitable compensation aligned with nonprofit benchmarks.Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
