Overview:
The Development Manager is directly responsible for the land development process including production planning, detailed design and management, engineering regulatory approvals, and construction oversight. The Development Manager is responsible for cost accounting and controls for their respective projects.
Key Deliverables:Monitoring consultant and contractor performance to expected results.
Maintaining positive relationships with partners and customers, external resources and regulators
Foster and sustain open and knowledgeable communication with consultants, contractors, and community Residents, and initiate corrective actions and change process when required
Direct consultants in production planning, design management engineering.
Construction oversight.
Regulatory approval monitoring.
Negotiate and administer contract obligations.
Reporting of operations activities to the Manager
Internal business plan involvement.
Internal approvals reporting.
Management of job cost and cash forecasting.
Ad hoc support to Senior Management for technical studies, and solutions to support sales and land acquisition initiatives.
Regular monitoring and inspection of all construction sites conditions, erosion control devices, show homes and raw land
What You'll Bring:A diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Architecture, or Business.
A minimum 5 years experience in land development.
An aptitude and passion for the land development industry, construction, project management and cost control.
Proven commitment to continuous learning is required.
Strong relationship building, negotiation, problem solving, and organizational skills
Proficient computer skills
Advanced critical thinking and problem solving skills
Effective communication skills; ability to communicate with customers, team members and external partners
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple competing priorities
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid Driver's License required
