Founded by students in 2019, NAT has engaged thousands of participants through hackathons, workshops, and partnerships across Canada and beyond.
Position Overview
The Development Coordinator supports NAT's fundraising, partnership development, and relationship management work. This role focuses on maintaining accurate stakeholder data, assisting with outreach, researching funding opportunities, and preparing grant materials. The coordinator will help track engagement across NAT's ecosystem, organize CRM records, and support communication workflows that strengthen relationships with partners, donors, and collaborators.
Key Responsibilities
CRM Management and Data Tracking
Maintain and update stakeholder and partner records in NAT's CRM system.
Organize contact details, engagement history, and internal notes.
Track outreach activity and ensure information is accurate and consistently formatted.
Stakeholder Engagement and Outreach Support
Assist with outreach to academic, industry, nonprofit, and community partners.
Draft emails, meeting summaries, introductions, and follow-ups.
Track partner touchpoints and communications within the CRM.
Prepare short briefs and internal updates based on CRM insights.
Grant Research and Writing Support
Research potential grants, funders, and partnership opportunities and summarize grant eligibility criteria, timelines, and key requirements.
Assist with preparing sections of grant applications, including background information and partnership details.
Maintain organized internal grant records.
Research and Ecosystem Mapping
Gather information on ecosystem actors, emerging opportunities, and new organizations for NAT's partner database.
Map clusters, relationships, and potential collaboration pathways.
Process Improvement and Documentation
Help refine CRM workflows and improve efficiency in data entry and organization.
Document internal processes, outreach steps, and CRM practices to support team consistency.

QualificationsRequired
Experience with research, grant writing, data management, and stakeholder coordination
Proficiency with spreadsheets and digital organization tools
Preferred
Experience using CRM or database systems
Familiarity with dashboards, automation tools, or basic data visualization
Coursework or experience in business, communications, nonprofit management, or data analytics
Working Conditions
This is a hybrid position based in Edmonton. The student is expected to work in person 1-2 days per week, be available for key project milestones, and attend key meetings as required.

Due to funding requirements, to be eligible, applicants must:
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee.
Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution at the time of application and remain enrolled for at least the first thirty days of the internship.
