Summary
The Development Coordinator supports the end-to-end process of franchise development, from lead generation to store opening. This role is responsible for supporting franchise applicant processing, coordinating key documentation, tracking critical dates, supporting lease and construction activities, and ensuring seamless communication between internal departments, franchise partners, landlords, and contractors.
Responsibilities
Franchise & Lease Administration
Prepare, organize, and track Franchise Applications, Franchise Agreements, Leases, Amendments, and related legal documentation.
Maintain accurate digital and physical records of all development files.
Track key dates and milestones such as lease expirations, renewals, and franchise agreement timelines.
Liaise with legal counsel and franchisees to ensure timely execution of documents.
Construction & Build-Out Coordination
Support the construction and design process from site approval to store handover.
Maintain and update project schedules, ensuring alignment with all stakeholders (franchisees, contractors, architects, designers).
Coordinate site communication and documentation throughout the build-out phase, including permits, approvals, and vendor management.
Track and report progress of all projects, identifying delays or issues proactively.
Handover & Opening Support
Coordinate final store handovers between construction, operations, and franchisees.
Ensure all documentation, inspections, and close-out requirements are completed before opening.
Support the onboarding of new franchisees during the transition from construction to operational launch.
Administrative & Departmental Support
Maintain development trackers, reports, and project dashboards.
Support budgeting, invoice processing, and vendor communication as needed.
Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and updates for executive and departmental meetings.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Business, Real Estate, Project Management, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in franchise development, real estate, or construction coordination preferred.
Strong understanding of lease and franchise agreement processes.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and project management tools.
Strong communication and relationship management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Previous hospitality industry experience an asset
Working Conditions
8 hour shifts, Monday-Friday.
Weekends, as needed.
Ability to work on the computer for long periods of time
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
