Target Start Date: 08/26/2024Located in Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario is one of the largest art museums in North America, attracting approximately one million visitors annually. The AGO Collection of more than 120,000 works of art ranges from cutting-edge contemporary art to significant works by Indigenous and Canadian artists and European masterpieces.We are currently seeking a Development Associate, Corporate Partnerships, to join our Development team. Under the direction of the Development Associate, Corporate Partnerships, this position has responsibility for revenue generation activity within the Development Division by supporting the corporate partnership portfolio. Under the direction of the Director, Corporate Partnerships, has responsibility for the solicitation, renewal and stewardship of the Corporate Membership Program and actively participates in the solicitation and stewardship of AGO\'s corporate sponsors and partners. The Development Associate, Corporate Partnerships must communicate effectively with multiple levels of external and internal contacts on a regular basis.What is this position responsible for?

  • Strategy Development: Participates with the Corporate Partnerships Team in the development of partnership and corporate membership strategy.
  • Account Servicing and Project Management: Acts as the AGO day to day contact with corporate partners as assigned. Coordinates and executes sponsor benefits as contractually obligated and within established timeframes. This includes providing hospitality event support through the co-ordination of invitations, volunteers, speakers and staff, sponsor requests, event itinerary development and approvals. Co-ordinates and liaises with other AGO departments including Marketing, Exhibitions, Curatorial, Food & Beverage and Retail by proactively developing strong working relationships and attending meetings as required. Develops and coordinates partnership program audits and final reports for delivery to all partners
  • Corporate Membership Program: Develops and implements the execution plan for the corporate membership program and in conjunction with the Director, Corporate Partnerships, is responsible for new member acquisition, renewals, and upgrade activity, which includes developing creative corporate partnership solutions, presenting opportunities available in membership packages, negotiating deliverables and variations to the package subject to management approval. Develops and prepares renewal, solicitation and thank you letters; and responds to membership requests. Develops annual communications plan and ensures regular contact with all members. Co-ordinates the delivery of all membership benefits including membership cards and special events all of which may include delegation to the coordinator. Supervises administrative work related to the Corporate Membership program performed by the Coordinator, Corporate Partnerships. Participates in the development of the corporate membership budget including revenue projections, coordination and monitoring of expenses.
  • Sales Planning and Solicitation: Under the direction of the Director, Corporate Partnerships: develops strategies of acquiring new and renewing existing corporate sponsors and partners; and develops creative corporate partnership solutions, presents opportunities to sponsorship prospects and negotiates partnerships, including all deliverable details. Contributes to the maintenance and expansion of corporate pipeline. Contributes to the development and co-ordinates corporate partnership sales materials including proposals, brochures, letters, invitations, special merchandise. Contributes to on-going product development efforts by researching and prospecting new and innovative ways of packaging partnership opportunities.
  • Prospect Management and Clearance Process: Participates in the Development Division prospect management system. Uses Raiser\'s Edge to make updates to constituent records, track prospects, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities. Using the database, develops, maintains and analyses prospect, financial and other database reports and lists. Integrates standardization and ensures that all reports and lists are kept up to date.
What are we looking for?
  • Four+ years directly related experience in a client service role within a development department.
  • Demonstrated direct corporate fundraising and/or sponsorship solicitation experience, ideally with 2+ years specifically in a museum environment.
  • Post-secondary education in marketing, business, public relations, or related field.
  • Well-developed understanding of event and sponsorship marketing.
  • Experience in creating and executing events and promotions within a museum environment.
  • Ability to design and deliver presentations with creative flair.
  • Well-developed organizational, analytical, time management, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to maintain professional standards.
  • Demonstrated customer management and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in applicable computer programs and donor databases such as Raisers Edge.
  • Demonstrated knowledge developing and working with database reports.
