This role is an opportunity for a developer (intermediate or senior) with a passion for Linux and open-source software to grow a career in the Healthtech industry and to be at the forefront of new tailored experiences for patients, doctors, and nurses.
As part of the Integrated Bedside Terminal (IBT) OS team, you will focus on developing, adapting, integrating, packaging and validating - ("make it work") - multiple Linux system software applications and libraries. You will work on the architecture, design and development of core components of our Linux distribution. You will be discussing design with other team members, mentor less senior engineers and participate in code reviews. You will also be working with other teams to ensure architecture decisions improve the overall performance and experience of myHealthHub, our IBT platform.
Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand user requirements and develop new features or improve existing ones.
• Design, develop, integrate, and package core applications on Linux powering the myHealthHub Integrated Bedside Terminal Linux distribution.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain operating system applications and services based on pre-established requirements and quality attributes.
• Define and deliver well-scoped milestones for software development projects. You may be a technical lead for projects on your team.
• Work in an Agile Environment that focuses on team and self-improvement.
• Write high quality, test-supported code and participate in peer code reviews.
• Engage in the DevOps practice by providing deployment-ready software that is delivered continuously (CI/CD).
• Participate, as required, in the ongoing effort to transition legacy systems into next-gen products.

Qualifications:

• B.Sc in Computer Science or B.Eng in Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Linux Experience, and familiarity in one of the following on a Linux system: RPM or Debian package creation, system administration or development, shell scripting, OS architecture, kernel.
  
• Experience with software development using Python.
• Familiarity with Web development using React and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Familiarity with native integration libraries such as Electron, React Native.
  
• Proficient understanding of OS Architecture.
  
• Experience with GitLab and how to use it in an Agile development environment.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Travis CI, CircleCI, or Gitlab CI.
• Creative approach and an eye for usability and accessibility.
• Experience working on an agile team and collaborating with peers remotely.
• Able to deliver clean and maintainable code.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and process improvement skills.
• Strong communication skills in English. Proficiency in French an asset.
• Professional experience in one of the following market verticals is an asset: Android or Linux customization, IVI / automotive, set top box / smart TV, bedside terminal, self-serve kiosk.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure an asset.
