Position Summary:

The Deputy Director (DD) of FF&P APU Process and Projects is a core member of the APU Platform that is accountable for operational process support, defining operational requirements, continuous improvement initiatives and delivering the successful start-up of platform projects and key initiatives. The DD works cross-functionally and collaboratively within an Autonomous Production Unit (APU) consisting of peers from Operations, Quality, Manufacturing Technology, Technical Services, HSE, Finance, Supply Chainand Manufacturing Excellence to achieve the objectives and deliver on the vision of the FF&P Platform.

The Deputy Director, FF&P APU Process and Projects with peers in the APU to define projects that address complex HSE, Quality, Reliability and Productivity opportunities, following established project management processes at the site. The DD will closely engage with the Portfolio Management Office (PMO), Manufacturing Excellence and Shop Floor Management to define, endorse and deliver projects to the APU. Will provide expertise, knowledge and skills on operational topics related to the requirements, design, start-up and delivery of a project for operational use in the APU.

The Deputy Director leads a team that is accountable for process related support for drug product manufacturing, process troubleshooting, technical process matters, and will support complex quality investigations and process improvement projects. The DD will provide leadership to Process Technical Managers, ensure trend review of Critical and Key Product parameters, and the review and creation of Protocols and Simple Validation Reports.

The FF&P APU platform consists of Formulation (F), Media (M), Washing & Sterilization (WS), Filling and Examination, and Packaging and Labeling (F&P) Departments.

Additionally, the Deputy Director will manage current site support services such as GMP Cleaners, Dock Management (Logistics) and will provide support to production centric units as required.

Reporting into the Deputy Director are the Subject Matter Experts, Site Service Manager and contingent Project Resources in the platform. The team members are matrixed into the platform and interact and support manufacturing operations at the APT and shop floor level.

Key Responsibilities:

1. APU Representative on Project Matters and Project Sub-Portfolio

Matrixed reporting and integration with PMO to ensure alignment of APU with project, portfolio, risk processes and Site Strategy.

Management of team members for coordination of project steer co requirements.

Facilitate the identification of new projects, evaluation of drivers and scope, and endorsement.

Manage, maintain and prioritize the APU Project Portfolio in alignment with Site Portfolio Management.

Manage interconnection and linkages between portfolio projects and escalate risks or gaps.

Monitoring health of APU portfolio through KPI dashboard reviews and escalate conflicts or delays.

Risk Management SPOC \xe2\x80\x93 engage in process for risk assessment, evaluation and mitigation.

2. Deliver APU Initiatives (continuous improvement), Projects and Area Start Up

Lead Workstream Leads for Manufacturing, SMEs within platform or act as one representative from the APU on projects.

Support definition, requirements, design of project and align APU team on capacity impact of execution.

Lead the delivery and project handover, and support operations for the ramp-up duration post project completion.

Manage Permanent and Contingent Manufacturing Resources Assigned to Projects.

Deliver on APU Platform specific projects and initiatives.

Lead or support improvements as per APU needs.

Represent the FF&P platform for relevant Site wide initiatives.

3. FF&P Process Support and Technical Matters

Leads a team of Subject Matter Experts and Technical Managers.

Provides process troubleshooting, scientific and technical support for manufacturing activities.

Accountable for Manufacturing Assistance (MA) Activities including complex deviation support, Product Impact Assessments (PIA) and Statistical Process Control review on Key/Critical Parameters across platform operations processes.

Leads team responsible for creating protocols and simple validation reports.

Direct the incorporation of new technologies into manufacturing process to improve safety, compliance, quality and productivity.

Lead and Provide input on Validation and Quality Plans.

Provide input on site policies related to manufacturing.

4. Site service support

Leads a team of Site Services managers (ie. GMP Cleaning, Dock Management and Logistics).

Scope and dimensions:

Reporting structure: Reporting to Director, FF&P APU Platform

Project Team members will change depending on Project.

Key Requirements:

M. Sc., M. Eng., or equivalent experience.

PMP designation is an asset.

10 years, direct experience in FF&P manufacturing and quality environments/organizations is an asset.

5 years demonstrated leadership in behavioral competencies.
