Depot Manager
Job Description
Yellow Dog Trucking is on the hunt for a proven leader to manage our Calgary Intermodal container depot. The successful applicant must posses a dedicated commitment to Safety and a desire to provide superior customer service.
The Depot Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of the day to day operations of the Depot. The Depot Manager will be required to learn and be able to perform the various responsibilities of the terminal including the operation of all equipment . The position is responsible for the organization of the yard and the management of the depot staff. They will be required to supervise and coordinate the various vendors utilized.
The Depot Manager will be directly involved in implementing the company safety protocols within the depot and fostering a culture focusing on exceptional customer service
Responsibilities
Management of the Depot staff Prepare and submit estimates for container repairs Schedule and monitor vendors for container repairs, equipment maintenance and repairs, as well as yard and office maintenance Perform daily safety and maintenance checks Participate in routine maintenance Practice workplace safety Manage and organize container inventory both physically and digitally Maintain customer records and generate reports
Requirements
Previous experience with lift (counter balance) equipment Working knowledge of the Intermodal sector and an understanding of Steamship Lines would be considered an asset Commitment to Workplace safety Strong mechanical knowledge Thorough understanding of computers and ability to learn new software programs Prior experience managing and leading a team
