Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Sterilization Technician to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will ensure all dental instruments and equipment are properly sterilized, maintained, and prepared for patient procedures. This role is vital in maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant clinical environment. The Sterilization Technician plays a crucial role in supporting our dental team by ensuring sterilization protocols are meticulously followed to uphold the highest standards of patient safety.

Responsibilities

Properly clean, sterilize, and package dental instruments using autoclaves and other sterilization equipment. Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles and instrument inventory using dental management software such as Dentrix and Epic. Assist dental staff by preparing instruments and materials for patient procedures in accordance with infection control protocols. Ensure all sterilization areas are clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA and CDC guidelines. Monitor sterilization equipment for proper functioning and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly. Support the dental team with general clinical duties as needed, including assisting with patient flow. Adhere to all safety protocols related to medical waste disposal and infection control.

Experience

Prior experience in a dental or medical sterilization role is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Knowledge of dental assisting procedures, including handling of dental instruments and materials.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 - 42 per week
