We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, patient records, and insurance verification with efficiency and compassion. This role requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with dental and medical office systems, and excellent communication abilities to ensure a smooth patient experience and efficient office operations.
Duties
Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Tracker
Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks.
Collect payments and process billing through medical billing systems, ensuring accuracy in documentation review
Maintain accurate patient records in EMR/EHR systems including CareCru or similar platforms
Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and assist patients with inquiries
Handle new patient intake forms, update medical histories, and ensure HIPAA compliance in all documentation
Assist with front desk administrative support including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and managing office supplies
Coordinate with clinical staff regarding patient care plans and appointment flow
Perform clerical duties such as data entry, filing medical records, and managing correspondence
Experience
Prior experience in a medical or dental office setting is highly necessary
Familiarity with dental terminology and medical billing procedures is advantageous
Experience working with dental practice management software such as Tracker is preferred
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management systems
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly under HIPAA guidelines
Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
Previous experience in clinic or hospital environments involving medical administrative support is beneficial
Knowledge of insurance verification processes and Medicare procedures enhances candidate suitability
