Dental Receptionist

Job Description

The employee will be responsible for greeting patients and assisting them with their inquiries. Additionally, the receptionist must maintain accurate records of patient information, process payments and provide administrative support to the DOC+ team. The employee will have exceptional organizational skills as well as a warm and personable demeanour, high standards of integrity, compassion and understanding.

PATIENT TASKS:



Verify Patient Identity with Photo ID*
Offer assistance to patients entering the building*
Process payments*
Generate receipts for payments received as well as provide itemized invoices for treatment*
Greet and welcome patients arriving at the dental office*
Create new patient profiles in Curve Dental and enter all relevant information into the system*
Contact patients immediately if emergency cases arise*
Implement strategies to encourage engagement in treatment among reluctant patients*
Utilize Curve for financial management including billing, collections, payment processing and reporting*
Gather supporting documentation from authoritative third party*
Monitor inactive patients and take appropriate action if necessary*
Enter patient information into Curve system including medical and dental history, insurance plans, etc.*
Provide written and verbal instructions to patients on next steps in the process*
Answer telephone calls promptly and transfer calls to appropriate personnel when needed*
Provide timely reminders to patients regarding their upcoming appointment*
Make follow up calls to patients who have not kept scheduled appointments*
Reach out to inactive or reluctant patients and encourage them to return for necessary treatment*
Schedule follow up visits for existing patients*
Monitor progress on treatments which require multiple visits*
Take special care with emergency and high risk cases by checking in with the patient regularly*
Input patient data into the computers with accuracy*
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guideline*
Communicated with referring dentists*
Proper record/note taking*

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
