Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals in delivering high-quality services. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients.

Responsibilities



Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment, adhering to infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays while ensuring compliance with HARP regulations. Manage patient records software systems such as Dentrix including medical documentation and medical coding. Conduct preliminary assessments by taking vital signs and gathering medical history from patients. Provide chairside assistance to dentists during various dental treatments, including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all areas comply with aseptic techniques. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.

Qualifications



Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Certification in an accredited dental assistance program. Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices is essential. Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and medical records management. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
