Role Summary:
Our
Edmonton Branch
is looking for a
Sales Representative who is currently based within the Edmonton city limits to join the Edmonton Fire Alarm and Fire Sprinkler deficiency sales team.
The position is accountable for the creation, tracking and follow up of fire alarm and Sprinkler inspection deficiency quotes. The main duties of this role are to sell Sprinkler & Fire Alarm solutions for deficiencies and renovation work along with system modifications and upgrades, and service work. The target market are customers in the commercial, industrial, hospitality and healthcare industries.
This is a branch office-based role working directly out of the branch office 5 days a week when the Sales Representative is not out at our client sites.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Focus on sales within an assigned geographic territory and/or assigned customer accounts
Establish, develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and qualified potential customers for service agreement, system modifications, and upgrades by scheduling sales calls, following up on leads and outlined marketing strategies.
Perform job setup, identify, and order materials needed for jobs, and coordinate with the Service Manager to schedule work,
Collaborate with clients to understand their specific requirements and develop customized solutions to address deficiencies and ensure compliance.
Create proposals for clients and perform follow-up on proposals.
Maintain high level of client service and quality of work.
Review monthly and annual fire alarm inspection documents to determine appropriate remedies for any identified deficiencies and identify associated pricing.
Request and gather pricing from third party vendors and/or suppliers when required.
Create deficiency quotation using internal quotation systems ensuring inclusion of all necessary labour, materials, and third-party products, while applying appropriate mark ups to achieve margin expectations.
When necessary, engage with branch level sales, supervisors, and other staff to determine and coordinate any support involvement in the production of the deficiency quotation.
Track and follow up on deficiency quotations with end users / customers as necessary for approvals.
Understand and apply Standards of Work for the role.
Become familiar with supplier portals for material review
Become familiar and proficient with the quotation process and systems
Obtain and maintain the high level of product expertise to support effective sales and service operations.
Maintain a high level of understanding of Regulatory Compliance applicable to fire & life safety.
Review inspection reports and make intelligent decisions based on identified deficiencies, materials, best practice and in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
Protect margins against material shortfalls or improper materials in relation to reviewed inspection reports.
Provide solutions using industry approved alternate products when appropriate.
Always make decisions based on the highest level of Ethical Compliance.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:
Three - Five years plus sales experience in the fire protection industry.
Post-secondary Degree/Diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing or Sales or equivalent education and experience OR a graduate of a technical college
Proven track record of success in sales, with a focus on fire protection or related industries.
In-depth knowledge of fire codes, regulations, and standards (NFPA, IFC, etc.).
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate complex fire protection concepts and solutions.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and positive attitude.
Self-motivated with a results-driven approach to achieving targets.
Strong knowledge of computer based applications (Microsoft Office Suite etc.)
Must have a valid driver's license with a recent clean abstract
