LinkedKey is an enrichment and enhancement after-school program in the GTA. Currently, we have four locations: our headquarters in Mississauga, as well as locations in North York, Markham and Montreal. We provide training programs in Communication, STEM, and Standard Test & College Prep to prepare students to impact and lead tomorrow's world.
In the Communication category, courses include Debate, Model United Nations, Public Speaking, Mock Trial, DECA, English Literature, and Essay Writing.
Our STEM category offers courses such as Math Contests for grades 4-12, Math Curriculum for grades 9-12, Science for grades 9-10, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Programming.
In the Standard Test & College Prep category, courses include SSAT, SAT, IB Courses, and AP Courses.
We encourage students to compete in various competitions and contests in Canada, US and around the globe.
Role Description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate
DECA Instructor
to join our dynamic teaching team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of DECA competition structure, case analysis, business presentation, and marketing concepts. You will be responsible for coaching students in written and role-play events, preparing them for regional, provincial, and international DECA competitions.
Teaching will take place at
Mississauga Campus, North York Campus or Markham Campus.
LinkedKey sincerely invites experienced DECA teachers to join us for the long term. Based on teaching performance, the position can be converted to a full-time teacher.
Qualifications
Bachelor or master's degree in Teaching or Education or a related field
Ontario Teaching Certification I/S divisions or equivalent
Prior experience with DECA (as a competitor, coach, or judge) is highly preferred.
Background in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Passion for working with youth and inspiring student success.
Candidates with experience in academic competitions or leadership programs will be given priority.
Duty
Develop and deliver engaging DECA lessons and workshops for high school students.
Teach business fundamentals, case analysis, marketing, finance, and entrepreneurship.
Guide students in preparing for written events and role-play competitions.
Provide individualized feedback and help students improve performance and presentation skills.
Collaborate with the academic team to maintain consistent teaching standards.
Support students in participating in DECA Ontario and DECA International Career Development Conferences (ICDC).
