Daycare Director- Bloom & Play Kelowna is a brand-new, state-of-the-art childcare center designed to inspire creativity, learning, and connection. About the Role

As the Daycare Manager, you will play a key role in launching and operating a high-quality licensed childcare centre. You will oversee daily operations, support staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and build strong relationships with families and the community.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of a large-scale licensed daycare program Support the initial operational setup of the centre in collaboration with the management team Provide strong leadership, coaching, and supervision to a team of Early Childhood Educators and Assistants Ensure ongoing compliance with BC Child Care Licensing Regulations and all health and safety standards Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures, including curriculum, learning plans, enrollment, and health & safety practices Supervise child registration and enrollment processes, including waitlists and family onboarding Manage staff hiring, training, scheduling, and performance to ensure ratios and quality standards are met Support curriculum planning and implementation to ensure developmentally appropriate, child-centered programming Communicate and collaborate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's development and daily activities Build positive relationships with families, staff, and community partners Handle emergencies calmly and in accordance with established policies and procedures Create and maintain a positive, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children and staff Oversee day-to-day administrative operations as the centre gradually grows Lead with integrity, professionalism, and a child-first approach Assume other duties as required to support the successful operation of the daycare
What You Need

BC ECE and/or Infant Toddler License to Practice First Aid/CPR Level B (children and infants) & Food Safe Level 1 Clear Criminal Record Check (submitted by Bloom & Play) Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills A passion for guiding children's learning and character development Experience in play-based and/or nature-inspired programs is an asset, but new educators with dedication and a heart for children are welcome
