About the Role

Hangingstone Climbing Company is looking for two enthusiastic staff to run our PD Day Camps for kids ages 6-12. These camps take place on no-school days (typically Fridays) and provide a fun, active, and safe environment for children while their parents are at work.

We are hiring for both a

Lead

and an

Assistant

position. The Camp Leader will take charge in planning and guiding activities at a rate of $17/hour, while the Assistant will support and help supervise throughout the day at a rate of $15/hour. Both roles are active, hands-on, and perfect for those who love working with kids.

Please note:

In the event of a school strike, Hangingstone may run extended camp programs during weekdays. Applicants should be open to the possibility of additional hours in this case.

What You'll Do

Lead and/or assist with climbing and ninja sessions, group games, crafts, and creative activities Supervise children to ensure safety, well-being, and positive engagement Maintain a fun and supportive environment that encourages confidence and participation Communicate with parents and Hangingstone staff as needed Assist with transitions, snack/lunch breaks, and downtime activities

What We're Looking For

Experience working with children (camp, coaching, babysitting, or similar) Experience with rock climbing, ninja warrior, or a similar sport Current Intermediate First Aid certification Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (required) Energetic, responsible, and adaptable Strong teamwork and communication skills Willingness and ability to support children who may find transitions, changes in routine, or group settings challenging, with patience and understanding
