Job Description

Adecco is currently recruiting a Database Administrator. This is a full time of 1-year contract with strong possibility of extension (2-years). This role is with our government entity Client located in Ottawa, ON. The successful candidate must hold a valid Secret Security Clearance. This role is Hybrid (required up to 5 days on-site per month, on call and overtime may be is required).

The Database Administrator will have the following responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Assistant Director, Database & Middleware Services: * Install, configure and maintain all supported Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server (DBMS) software for a High Availability (HA) environment

• Upgrade existing databases and prepare patch management strategy database based on software vendor's recommendations as approved
• Oversee resolution of database-related technical issues
• Implement and review backup and recovery strategy to ensure that business service-level agreements are met
• Conduct database security administration to ensure that data is only available to authorized users
• Ensure data consistency by adhering to data model standards and best practices
• Oversee schema objects and perform production migrations
• Carry out database performance tuning and analysis
• Analyze and monitor system performance to identify major performance bottlenecks in the system and identify the impact of administration tasks on core business scenarios
• Collaborate with development Database Administrators to coordinate database migration activities and disaster recovery testing, and enhance disaster recovery procedures
• Provide operational support for the middle tier environment
• Other related activities and deliverables, as required

The Database Administrator must meet the following mandatory requirements: * A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience with Database Recovery Manager (RMAN) with backup/restore and point in time recovery

• A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience with datapump tool for database/data migration
• Demonstrated knowledge of the concept of Oracle Advanced Security Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) designation
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Oracle DB version 19c
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with SQL Server 2016 or higher
• MS Certified Solutions Associate
• Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator
• Demonstrated knowledge of Oracle Exadata,
• Demonstrated knowledge of DataGurad, RAC
• Demonstrated knowledge of GoldenGate
• Demonstrated MYSQL database Administrator experience
